An introduction to the Gates family

My name is Catherine and I was originally a Donoghue before I married Michael and then I became a Gates. I was born and brought up in a little village called Rotherby in Leicestershire.

In 1977 I met Michael whilst working away in Germany for the Toc H. We married and our first child was Rachel born in December 1977 closely followed by Andrew who was born in May 1979. After a short break Zoe was born in May 1983 followed by Rebecca in 1985. Mike already had a daughter Samantha born in 1973.
Samantha came to live with us when she was twelve and is married to Andrew. They have four children and live about eight miles further up the coast in Cley.
Mike and I moved to Norfolk in 1978 and so have been here 27 years. Mike is a postal worker while I work as a Teaching Assistant at the local primary school.

Rachel lives in Haringay and is a social worker.

Andrew lives with his partner Shane and lives in the town and is presently working at Pinewoods Leisure Park.

Zoe is working for a local catering company and pub. She is pursuing a career in medicine.

Rebecca is studying geography at Newcastle University.
